Kingston Festival of the Performing Arts

The Kingston-upon-Thames Festival of The Performing Arts provides opportunities to individuals of a range of ages and abilities to perform in various music, dance, and speech categories. The Festival was founded in 1932 as the Kingston upon Thames Musical Festival Society with the aim of encouragement and development of Musical and Kindred Arts. Eighty years on the Festival is still thriving and is as relevant today as it was then, providing a welcoming and encouraging platform for people of all ages and backgrounds to perform in front of a small audience and receive positive feedback from well qualified adjudicators on their achievements; this is educational and helps to build self-esteem and confidence.

Each year performers, with an age range from under 5 to over 80, compete for medals and trophies in a range of classes covering Stage Dancing, Speech & Drama, Piano, Vocal and Classical Instruments.

From an initial 5 days of competition in 1932, we now spread over a month, using four different venues culminating with a Final Concert in December and the prestigious Kingston Young Musician Competition in January.

Kingston Festival of the Performing Arts will be taking place between 2nd November - 8th December.
